How Often to Get a Massage
Austin Living Massage
Back, Hip and Knee Pain Relief
It depends.
If you found me looking to solve back, hip or knee pain, you know the answer.
My recommendation is 4 massages booked 3-7 days apart and then re-assess.
Most clients finish this package, usually feeling much better by their 3rd massage and then decrease their frequency to every 2 weeks, then 3 then 4. Contact Us to purchase this Pain Relief Package as it's discounted and not listed online.
If you have chronic pain, weekly or biweekly is best. If you find that your pain is more manageable for longer, you can increase the time between massages.
Those that are already at a pretty good spot (pain is not keeping you from living your life how you want and doing the things you love) can choose any duration between 2-8 weeks.
That said, most of my longer term regular clients generally find a sweet spot at 3 weeks.
Weekly or biweekly sometimes seems too soon, but a month is a bit too long.
All this is just information based on my observations. At the end of the day, how often depends on your schedule, budget, how your body is feeling and your goals.
But really, you should get a massage as often as you want ;)
Me, personally, I book my regular session every 4-5 weeks depending on my therapist's availability since she only works 3 days a week. If my schedule has been slammed, I'm feeling a bit spent or I tweaked little something, I will book an additional session halfway.
